The Avengers

  • The series "The Avengers"  had it's first episode on the 7th of January 1961. The show then lasted a total 8 years on the air.
  • This was the beginning of feminism and the start of how things may be for us nowadays but at the time this was unusual.
  • It is a very tongue and cheek sort of comedy
  • It received good reviews at the time and still today gets good reviews.
  • The cast was very good including very well known actors and actresses,it included Patrick Macnee and Diana Rigg.
  • The actual technology back then wasn't as advanced so as we look at it today it really doesn't look realistic. however, at the time it was the best of the best. Image result for the avengers series

cuffs

cuffs

  • Ashley Walters as PC Ryan Draper – Jake's partner and Tutor Constable. He is a widower and father of a son and daughter.
  • Jacob Ifan as PC Jake Vickers– the son of Chief Superintendent Robert Vickers. He is gay and is struggling as a new recruit.
  • Amanda Abbington as DS Jo Moffat – an investigator who is having an affair with Robert. She is divorced and lives alone with her ageing German Shepherd.
  • Peter Sullivan as Chief Superintendent Robert Vickers– Jake's father. His wife is suffering from cancer.
  •  genre- police procedural
  • created by-julie gearey
  • It was first aired in 2015
  •  Brighton's diversity is shown very well in Cuffs. There are many different ethnic groups that appear throughout the episodes for example, the people that own the corner shops and teh customers they handle.
  • Audience's therefore can find an age group or group that they can relate to.
  • The fact that Cuffs was pre watershed  can be seen as quite insensitive however, the way in which they showed the more sensitive subjects is very subtle so there's no need to show it post watershed. The violence isn't explicit and self harm isn't glorified or glamorized.
